Cellulite is caused by the build-up of fat underneath the skin, and some women are more predisposed to it than others. Cellulite appears when collagen fibers between the muscle and the skin separate the underlying fat into multiple pockets. Cellulite becomes more visible as you age, and your skin becomes thinner and loses elasticity, revealing the rippled connective tissues underneath. Cellulite can also be caused by increased cumulative sun damage and body fat.

With Emtone, You’ll Experience:

  • Natural skin rejuvenation
  • Smooth, dimple-free skin on your stomach, buttocks, arms, and thighs

How Emtone Works

Emtone combines pressure wave therapy and monopolar radiofrequency to the skin. During treatment, the radiofrequency warms tissue to approximately 111º. Simultaneously, acoustic waves are emitted.

Emtone “disrupts” fat cells, thus reducing the subcutaneous layer that bulges through the skin’s connective tissue. Collagen is then created to strengthen the connective tissue that supports the skin while holding the bottom layer of the subcutaneous fat in place. Finally, an increase in circulation stimulates the removal of metabolic waste that builds up and pushes on subcutaneous fat.

This combination addresses the various factors that contribute to cellulite, including:

  • Loss of skin elasticity
  • Larger fat chambers beneath the skin
  • Poor blood flow
  • Rigid collagen fibers that pull the skin down
  • Accumulated metabolic waste beneath the skin

Unfortunately, no cellulite treatment can eliminate cellulite completely, but Emtone can significantly improve the appearance of dimpled skin. To learn if Emtone is right for you, schedule a consultation with Dr. Ezeigbo at Advance Family and Sports Medicine in Winston-Salem.
